It's the little things....

Little things in life make living more enjoyable. One such thing is hot water. Boy do I take hot water for granted. That is, until my water heater stopped working. Yesterday the plumber was out and cleaned our water heater closet, finding nothing wrong with the water heater. Last night I enjoyed a blissful hot shower. Then today, nothing, no hot water. Grr, so I've left a message with the plumber. Seems what looked like a simple fix may not be the case. Such is life I suppose.

In other news my little chickens faces are reddening up. I don't think it will be too much longer until we are seeing eggs from the younger three. This will mean many more eggs to share with neighbors and friends. Or, more likely, many more eggs to push onto other people as we simply cannot eat them all. It's funny that some of our neighbors love the idea of fresh eggs, while others prefer the nasty white eggs they get from the market. It's not a taste preference, but more of a way of growing up, believing that the supermarket is there to supply us with the best most healthy food. Any of my chicken raising, vegetable gardening, homesteading friends know it is quite the opposite.

Speaking of vegetable gardening. If you are going to be in Santa Monica, CA on the 14th of this month you might enjoy the Santa Monica Farmer's Market which is celebrating it's 30th year. Pretty exciting. There should be some great vendors and food to enjoy!

  1. Oh no! I can't imagine being without hot water. What a bummer. And of course they don't know what's wrong. We've had the same thing happen with our a/c (when we lived in an apartment). Turns out they had the units mismarked and had been working on someone else's the whole time. Lovely right??

Hope they figure it out soon! Like today :)
