One of "those" weeks.....

Some weeks really do just get the better of you. I know this week has been a trial in personal fortitude, resolve and patience and I've certainly failed portions of it. Getting caught in a snow storm, breaking my tire chains, appliance deliveries getting messed up, muddy chicken runs which find their way onto clean kitchen floors. You know, the kind of week where the world seems set against you.

To combat my battle with my week I've been taking extra baths, escaping to my books and venting to a sympathetic friend or two. The week isn't over yet, but it can't end soon enough for me. In the meantime I'm trying to turn things around. I figure at worst it will all be over soon and these are the weeks that give us stories to tell our children. I'll leave you with a quote if you, like me, are having a week you feel like you need to "survive."

"Fall down seven times, get up eight." Japanese Proverb

  1. I hope next week is better for you. I have felt a little down this week, but as I have a bit of a problem with SAD in February, not surprising. My paying it forward series on my blog has helped to keep my spirits up. We are expecting our first snowstorm on Sunday. I hope it goes away quickly as I am really ready for Spring.

  2. That's a wonderful proverb Alexis -- thanks for sharing. Kind of applies to my entire month! Hope next week is much better for you. Thanks for your suggestion on my dining room post too!
