Sunday road trip- Tehachapi

Today we were feeling a bit restless. After preparing taxes for the majority of the day yesterday we were ready for some relaxation and a road trip. We decided on our neighboring town of Tehachapi, CA for it's picturesque drive and small town feel. Yes, we live in a small town as well, which is something we have in common with our neighbors in Tehachapi. Perhaps this is why we enjoy visiting so much.

There's something to be said about small towns where people greet each other in passing and a smile can be found around every corner. Small towns exude charm and facilitate memories. The pace is slower, the conversation kinder and though there is less to take in you take in more. Yes, we are quite fond of small towns and nice drives with good music playing and the sun shining down.

We visited a few antique shops and my favorite little nursery where I picked up some basil and a great book about pruning. Mostly though, we enjoyed the day as a family, soaking up the sunshine and breathing in the air of early spring.
