This week's thrift store scores.....

Some weeks I feel like I hit the vintage jackpot and find so many treasures for prospective projects I'm pumped to get crafting. This was one of those weeks. Just yesterday, in fact, I found a few things that will help get me started on lots of spring painting. The studio is getting packed with treasures waiting for their makeovers. From new upholstery to a paint makeover, I can't wait to show you what I'll be working on.

Yesterday I found this amazing 2.5' high lantern ($12). Though it's not particularly old, it has been weathered for me. The black painted metal has worn in places leaving a great green patina. The glass is all intact. This will definitely welcome visitors on our front porch.

Another really fun project find was this darling night stand/bookcase ($5). I can't wait to get this black paint sanded off and prime this little gem. With a lighter paint color (I'm thinking green) and drilling the drawer for a knob, I'm thinking this piece will be a charming addition to any reading space, bedside or child's room.

Other fun finds included a huge trivet in wood (for use while painting) several old frames, a sweet juice carafe, and some miscellaneous metal pieces and boxes waiting for paint and a new purpose.
