Today inspiration struck me and I dragged out this little ladder. I hosed it off and removed the L brackets from the back, saving them for later and another project. That was all it took to make this little jewel of use. I then placed this in my dining room where it can display some of my tablecloth collection that was otherwise hidden away. I think it adds a nice touch. I can change up the colors to go with the seasons, decorate it with garlands or ornaments and I think it will be a fun addition to our dining room. These ladders are incredible common finds. I have seen them in almost every Goodwill I've visited and they often pop up on Craiglist and Freecycle as well. What do you think?

Isn't interesting how commonplace thrift store finds differ from country to country (and sometimes even province to province or state to state). I can't recall ever seeing a bunk bed ladder like this at any point while trifting (who bunk beds though, yes), and find it interesting that you've encountered many. I love what you did with this one and now hope I can find one someday too and follow your home decor lead.

ReplyDeleteLove it :)
ReplyDeleteI think its awesome!
ReplyDeleteJessica, that's so true. I go to Minnesota and I can find all the ironstone I want. However, here in CA, ironstone is very difficult to find. I had to laugh because when I was out yesterday after I wrote my post I came across another bunk bed ladder in white. Ha ha
ReplyDeleteI really like ladders in interior. The way you use it is perfect!

Looks great...perfect spot to show off your collection :) Laurel
ReplyDeleteI used a ladder to dry towels after showers for a couple years. It worked great and took up a lot less space than trying to hang enough bars in the bathroom for 4 people worth of towels!
