We moved here in 2004 and started with an awkward shaped yard with no fence. First thing was adding a cedar privacy fence and then it was decided what to do with a little over 6000 square feet in this odd V.
The yard is still a work in progress and we've decided to go with a whole new layout. This is the yard last spring but now we've moved our fountain to the center of the yard, we're building four new raised beds for this portion of the yard. We'll be sectioning off the yard into smaller garden "rooms" and so much more.

This is the yard today. We've moved our fountain to the center of the yard and staked out the area for the new beds. The sides will have long continuous running beds. The upper area above the first retaining wall has another circular planter and will lead to a second retaining wall and a new arbor. This is just the middle of the yard with much more to come behind this area.

This is the yard looking up from the bottom to the top. It's currently too much for the eye to take in. We'll be breaking up the space this weekend. The black gates are temporary but will be replaced with cedar privacy fencing to create a more intimate dining area. We want people to wander and explore the yard once it's complete and present the feeling of an Italian garden. As you can see, we have a lot of work ahead, but much of the materials are starting to arrive. Updates soon!
